The following formula is used to calculate the volumetric efficiency of an engine:
Volumetric Efficiency (%) = (Air Flow * 3456) / (Engine Displacement * RPM) * 100
Variables:
- Volumetric Efficiency is the efficiency of the engine in using the air-fuel mixture (%)
- Air Flow is the amount of air entering the engine (cfm)
