Bottle Neck Calculation Formula
The following formula is used to calculate the net throughput from your system throughput and bottle neck rate.
Net Throughput = Bottle Neck Rate * (1 - Percentage Loss / 100)
Variables:
- Net Throughput is the effective throughput after accounting for losses (items/hour)
- Bottle Neck Rate is the rate at which the bottle neck process can handle items (items/hour)
- Percentage Loss is the percentage of efficiency loss due to various factors (%)
To calculate the net throughput, multiply the bottle neck rate by the percentage loss, subtract the result from the bottle neck rate, and this gives you the net throughput.
